Project Highlights
Far beyond mere technological integration, the VTC United Platform represents a significant evolution from traditional BIM application to a digitally driven, people-centric smart campus ecosystem.The project features an integrated Digital Twin platform that seamlessly combines Building Information Modelling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), Building Management System (BMS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It enables intelligent and collaborative operations across VTC’s campus network. Core functionalities include enhancing teaching experience, optimising resource allocation, intelligent environmental monitoring, promoting green campus initiatives, seamless system integration, enriched navigation services and streamlined operational workflows.
Beyond construction and facility management teams, the platform allows students, faculty, staff and visitors to access real-time campus facilities and learning information anytime. Through people-centric interactive applications, it fosters a more interactive and efficient campus environment, elevating the overall experience of all stakeholders and setting a new benchmark for educational facility management and campus operations.Evolved from the Digital Works Supervision System (DWSS), DFMS incorporates pioneering integration of ECDO smart campus management, striving to improve the overall efficiency of facility and property management.
Collaboration for Excellence
The award-winning project is led by VTC’s Estates and Campus Development Office as the project and design management supervisor.The AMEC campus development project has previously earned international recognition, including the Gold Award in the Education Facility category at the Future Design Awards 2025 and the Grand Award in the BIM Initiative – Education category at the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) Awards 2025. The latest IFMA honour further validates VTC’s exceptional standard in campus development and facility management.
