Mr. Elvis Li, CEO of isBIM, was invited to be the guest speaker of a Zhongshan CPPCC forum

We, isBIM, are honoured to have our CEO, Mr Elvis Li, invited by the Zhongshan Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (Zhongshan CPPCC) to be the guest speaker for the "Impelling the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry Industrialisation, Digitalisation and Intelligentization" forum. We are grateful to have this opportunity for the government leaders to comprehend the importance of architecture industrialisation, digitalisation and Intelligentization, and for us to engage in advancing the Zhongshan AEC industry.

The forum was held at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library Lecture Hall on the 31st March 2021, Participants include the Chairman of the CPPCC Zhongshan Committee Tang Ying, Vice Mayor Ye Hongguang and functional departments, CPPCC Members, industry experts, enterprise and town representatives, etc.

The AEC industry has been a core industry of our country, while still being a labour-intensive industry, it faces challenges of low productivity, high resources consumption, lack of technology innovative abilities, etc.

In the forum, Elvis utilised images, data and example cases to explain the BIM prefabricated building development and BIM digitalisation roadmaps. He also analysed several architecture transformation development directions including data management middleware, project management forms, implementation of digital twins, etc. Thereafter he suggested some of the core transformation development elements, such as strengthening government support, putting appropriate resources in place and accumulating elites, to facilitate construction safety and quality improvements, raise city operation efficiency, create an emerging industry chain and achieve sustainable development of the industry.

Elvis believes the AEC industry transformation, including the implementation of BIM application, is an essential trend for stepping into the digital economic era. As the geometric centre of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, numerous enormous projects were attracted to take place in Zhongshan. AEC transformation will provide a solid foundation to support the upcoming projects and platforms constructions, it will also benefit the nurturing of Unicorns of property technology enterprises in Zhongshan. Furthermore, exporting the advanced skills, experience, and technologies to other cities within the Greater Bay Area.

We would also like to express our gratitude for the incisive questions raised by Vice Mayor Ye Hongguang. We are allowed to reflect and try solving traditional construction issues with a more innovative business model.

Elvis shared viewpoints and opinions with the participants after the speech, to communicate and investigate new insights and ideas for Zhongshan AEC industry transformation.
